| 内容記述 | スリランカのインクルーシブ教育について、2年間にわたり現地調査を行った。教育立国を目ざすスリランカでは、インクルーシブ教育を目ざした取り組みが行われているが、一般学校に併設された特別支援学級の学級編成や児童の実態は、日本と変わらないと言える。開発途上国と言われる中でも、就学を希望する障害児を受け入れて学校教育の光を当てようとする姿勢には、日本の教育界も学ぶべきことは多いと言える。指導内容においては、国によって統一された教育課程はなく、教科教育に重点がおかれているといえるが、各学校独自の教育課程を策定して、前向きな障害児教育が行われている。"Educational for All"という、国連の児童の就学率向上を目ざすためには、開発途上国と言われる国の障害児教育が大切にされる必要があり、そのためにはスリランカの障害児教育事情に応じた独自の教育内容の整備と教育課程の編成、そして教育情報の収集が今後の課題となると言える。 | |||||||||||

| 内容記述 | The author conducted field surveys of inclusive education in Sri Lanka over a two-year period. Inclusive education is part of Sri Lanka's efforts to establish itself as an education-oriented nation. The establishment of special-needs classes in mainstream schools and the circumstances of the children in such classes differ little from their equivalents in Japan. In fact, Japan's educators have much to learn from Sri Lanka's acceptance of disabled children wishing to attend school and from its efforts to expose them to school education. Although there is no nationwide standard, course-based education is considered important, so each school decides its own forward-looking curriculum for special-needs education. To achieve Education for All-the UN goal of raising the percentage of children attending school-special-needs education in developing countries must be made a priority. Further study is required to gather information on how Sri Lanka develops and maintains educational content and forms curricula to meet the particular circumstances of special-needs education in that country, together with information on how such education is conducted. | |||||||||||
