Given the cultural differences, however, a direct adaptation may not be a viable approach. Therefore, it is imperative to examine how peer group supervision in Japan should be explained in light of the understanding of Japanese culture. Thus, this study discusses literature studies and interviews in the relevant fields and identifies issues for Japanese people concerning peer group supervision on the basis of cultural advantages. The Japanese usually value an emotional `connection' that reinforces a sense of fellowship among themselves and can be conducive to attain higher professional standards.
